Migrant Community Center (MCC) is a safer space for migrants living under Kafala. MCC works with migrant domestic workers to improve their living and working conditions and build their capacities to self-advocate for their rights as agents and leaders of change. Its programs include community-building, capacity-building, psychosocial wellbeing, community-led initiatives, and advocacy.<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Purpose<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To manage ARM\u2019s Advocacy Team, provide guidance, feedback and support to the team members, and to ensure smooth coordination and communication with other ARM teams and staff, as well as external partners.<\/p>\n<p><b>Areas of Contribution & Related Accountabilities<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Advocacy Management:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Actively contribute to the development of the macro-level strategic framework and long-term political vision of ARM and ensure that all advocacy and communications outputs are consistent with this vision;<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the Advocacy Team, and the Head of Advocacy and Casework\u00a0 on the development of the Advocacy and Communications strategic objectives, work plans and timelines to shape and promote ARM\u2019s discourse and positions;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development of campaign strategies and timelines in coordination with the Advocacy Team;<\/li>\n<li>Actively contribute to relevant political and policy analyses;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development of content for campaigning for external and internal use, such as fact sheets, official letters, position statements, background notes, press releases, etc. to be shared on all our portals;<\/li>\n<li>Revise and edit advocacy outputs prior to publication where needed;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the writing of relevant advocacy reports\u00a0 and any emerging publications on which ARM\u2019s input is requested and desirable;<\/li>\n<li>Devise\u00a0 strategies to actively and effectively engage Migrant Domestic Workers in all aspects of advocacy work including strategy development, campaign actions and events;<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain relationships with key policy influencers (international organisations, local organisations, media, lawyers, activists, academics, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Communications Management:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to and oversee\u00a0 the development of an overall social media strategy and monthly social media plans;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure consistency of ARM\u2019s discourse in all published materials, interviews, protests, and social media messages;<\/li>\n<li>Act as one of the several spokespeople for ARM and MCC in media interviews, public talks and discussions, panels, forums, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development of engaging public campaign stories and actions to generate public support for the cause and ARM\u2019s values and discourse;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and monitor the quality of the preparation of organisational publications for internal or external audiences;<\/li>\n<li>Devise effective ways to engage Migrant Domestic Workers in all aspects of communications and advocacy work including strategy development, campaign actions and events;<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the quality of content on ARM\u2019s website, ARM\u2019s social media accounts\u00a0 social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter);<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance, feedback and support to the ARM Communications Specialist as needed, and suggest improvements and solutions to any problems that may arise on these platforms;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Partnership Management:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Periodically assess ARM\u2019s existing partnerships and membership in networks and coalitions, in relation to their relevance to ARM\u2019s current work;<\/li>\n<li>Attend and organize meetings and discussions with partners and report back to the advocacy team and core management team;<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities for collaboration with groups or organizations, in accordance with yearly team strategies and priorities;<\/li>\n<li>Draft partnership agreements to formalize working relationships and collaborations with groups, organizations or consultants that ARM selects for collaboration on communications or advocacy campaigns;<\/li>\n<li>Reach out to activists and organizations in Lebanon and in countries of origin to introduce ARM\u2019s advocacy work and assess possibilities of collaboration (advocacy & other);<\/li>\n<li>Highlight successful partnerships through website and social media posts, in coordination with the Communications Specialist;<\/li>\n<li>Lead on communication with activists and organizations in Lebanon and in countries of origin and carry out all the required follow-up tasks;<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate connections and communication between partners in countries of origin and migrant communities in Lebanon;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Team Management:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and continuously improve an Advocacy and Communications Guide to ensure continuity and proper handover to future employees;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Delegate and assign tasks within the team in accordance with each team member\u2019s strengths and work loads;<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the implementation of the team\u2019s work plan and provide support with tasks as needed;<\/li>\n<li>Devise the appropriate tools and indicators to assess the team\u2019s performance and improve future strategies and tactics accordingly;<\/li>\n<li>Schedule and facilitate weekly team meetings and ensure proper documentation of and follow up on the decisions;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Regularly identify and prioritize training needs of team members and organize any required training;<\/li>\n<li>Regularly assess the team\u2019s workload and intervene in cases of overwhelm, through redistribution of tasks, deprioritization of tasks, refusal of additional tasks, hiring additional team members, or other appropriate solutions to prevent team burnout;<\/li>\n<li>Carry out all the managerial tasks for the team, including drafting recommendation letters, drafting and revising team members\u2019 Role Profiles, receiving and approving leave requests from team members, monitoring time sheets monthly, monitoring task completion weekly, filling out detailed and well-thought Performance Reviews for team members on a yearly basis, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Cross-Team Coordination:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor staff knowledge on key concepts and their political discourse (as evident in meetings), and identify any need for specialized training for other teams, to ensure an organization-wide understanding of ARM\u2019s long-term political vision, as well as consistency of discourse and values across teams;<\/li>\n<li>Receive requests related to communications and advocacy from other ARM teams as well as requests external to ARM, filter them, and respond to requests that either fit the team strategy, ARM\u2019s strategy, or can be considered
