The Opportunity
As a member of the Education in Emergency team, the Education Assistant will be responsible for implementing the Education in Emergencies programme interventions for affected communities under the supervision of the Education Officer. The Education Assistant will work towards ensuring the programme is of a high technical quality, monitoring processes are in place, that timely reporting occurs, and that the programme is continually assessed, and solutions quickly put in place for a change of context.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- Bachelor degree in Education, Development, or another Social Science.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, good written and spoken English and an advantage of French language skills.
- At least two years’ experience in Education, preferably in an NGO environment or educational setting.
- Understanding of government institutions, particularly the public school and social welfare systems.
- Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to plan strategically.
- A demonstrated understanding of national development issues, in relation to children and Education.
- Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
