The organization runs educational, relief, livelihoods, and protection programs, and aims to serve as an inclusive and supportive focal point for the entire community.

The Communication Officer is responsible for participating in the planning and implementation of outreach activities and information sessions as well as identifying and engaging the internal and external concerned stakeholders. The Communication Officer is also responsible for providing the technical communication assistance and capacity building required to the project team and potential participants.

The Communication Officer will also act as a focal point for the PR and Communications Department in the Civil Society Enablement Unit (CSE) and will be responsible for all PR and Communications-related activities requested by the CSE Unit.

Strategic and operational

  • Write and edit press releases, success stories, newsletters, and other communication materials in both Arabic and English based on a brief.
  • Serve as the communication focal point for B&Z Civil Society Enablement Unit.
  • Curate content for social media channels, as required.
  • Follow up on all CSE Unit projects, timelines, and communication requirements.
  • Coordinate the production of different content outputs with different team members.
  • Support in the production of visual materials in coordination with the Graphic Designer and in alignment with B&Z Brand Guidelines.
  • Support in the photo or video coverage of activities related to the CSE unit and different projects by B&Z as required.
  • Support in translation for various B&Z outputs and documents.
  • Develop a communication plan for the activities of projects under the CSE Unit and others where relevant and required.
  • Support in coverage field visits to different areas around Lebanon as required.
  • Monitor and report on communication activities as required by the Communication & PR Unit.
  • Coordinate required printable and visibility materials with the Communications Unit and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support in events organizations and coordination when required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a subject area relevant to the position, such as communication, journalism, media studies, or other related fields.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in the field of media and communication.
  • Previous experience in a humanitarian organization is a plus.

Competencies

  • Advanced copywriting and editing skills
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, both verbal and written.
  • Great creative and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with people from different backgrounds and on different tasks.
  • Understanding of the online communication space and social media best practices.
